The I Hate Wendy Club

By Debra Wosnik

(Grades 2-5) Relational Aggression (RA) is brutal, cruel, mean, and is running rampant in today’s schools. More and more frequently it rears its ugly head in younger and younger children. The I Hate Wendy Club was written for these younger children with the hope that if enough younger children realize what RA is and the damage it can do, they will avoid the trap that has caught older children for many years.

The program includes:

• 5 supplementary lessons that reinforce the story's message through art activities, welcoming new students, a math lesson that illustrates how each friend brings positive assets to a group, a decision-making activity where students take the role of judges, and an exclusion activity.

• 28 reproducible supplementary activity pages that allow students to review the story's concepts and lessons in a variety of ways, including the influence immigrants have had on our nation, the harmfulness of gossip, comparing and contrasting, hidden pictures, prefixes, and secret messages.

• Pre- and post-test for evaluative purposes

Softcover, 88 pages.
